You want to learn plants, and instead end up navigating algorithms. It’s time to join the quiet internet.

When you join my mailing list, it’s like hanging out together next to a calm, still pool having a good old yarn about plants, nature and life’s simple joys.

I’ll be your guide, nudging, prodding and encouraging you to look at the world in new ways.

I’m not called a contemplative ecologist for nothing!

I teach plants with a mix of facts and stories.

But it’s more than that.

It’s about taking you on a journey.

A journey into the beauty and wonder of life.

We live on an extraordinary blue planet.

And we’re alive because of our green friends.

I’ve been writing my free newsletter since 2008.

I usually post something thoughtful about plants each week and sometimes, if the muse is hassling me, even daily.

Daily?

Yup, I want you to know that, so you don’t have a nasty surprise when I am on a writing streak.

And if it all gets too much for you, you can take yourself off the list by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every message I send.

If you choose to join me on this adventure, I’ll see you on the inside. Just pop your email in the form below.

A Note on Transparency

I believe in being upfront with you. My newsletter is primarily (80%) focused on sharing genuine insights about plants, foraging, and our relationship with nature.

This comes from my years of experience studying and teaching about the natural world.

The remaining portion (about 20%) mentions my books and related offerings.

These aren’t aggressive sales pitches – they’re thoughtful suggestions for those wanting to deepen their understanding of the topics we explore together.

As a reader, India S. shares: ‘I’m enjoying your emails. They are not spammy and when they do pop up I take a little break from daily life to sit and read. It’s almost like re-training my brain away from social media and getting content direct to me.’

This balance helps sustain my work while maintaining the quality and depth you’ve come to expect.

Each newsletter is written with care and respect for your time, whether I’m sharing pure plant knowledge or letting you know about relevant resources.

You’re always in control of your subscription and can one-click unsubscribe at any time if it’s not what you’re looking for.
