Since 2008 I have been blogging and teaching folks about wild edible plants.
So I thought I’d give you some direct links to easily find what you are looking for.
Find a plant gives a summary of the past and present uses of wild plants.
What’s in season tells you which plants to harvest each month as you forage through the year.
If you want a quick way to access my most recent articles, go here.
I’ve also created hundreds of wild food recipes.
If audio is “your thing”, you’ll find my podcast here. Each show explores the relationship that humans have had with plants since we came into being.
As I say on my foraging courses (which were recently voted #1 by BBC Countryfile).
Plants are the foundation of human culture. Without them, humans simply would not exist.
Foraging is an ancient art. A slow and graceful way to feed and sustain ourselves.
There is nothing more fulfilling than wandering around picking a bit here, a bit there.
Only to return home to prepare scrumptious food for loved ones and friends.
I have spent hundreds of hours pouring over arcane books and thousands of scientific papers to dig out the unique ways our ancestors used wild edible plants.
I travel a fair bit and hang out with traditional cultures (those who are often on the brink of extinction).
This allows me to report back to you the worldview these peaceful cultures live through and their intimate, deep relationship with plants.
Ways of living with nature that I personally feel we need to pay attention to if we are to return to a healthy balance with the rest of the ecosystem.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you.
Talk soon,
Robin
